Harmony with Mittens & Little Black Lilac
Moose (09-23-2023)
This moose was hit by a truck and ran up here at the end of our block. We did not actually see the moose, but a neighbor gave us a picture of the moose. The truck it is standing by is not the truck that hit the moose. We were told that the truck broke the moose’s hip, so the game warden had to put the moose down. I guess it was a male moose about 2 years old.

Memorial – Twinkle Twitter May 12, 2017, to July 6, 2023, She will be missed.
One of my bunnies died this morning. It was probably cancer as she has acted similar to the way that Velvet acted before she died of a tumor.

Twinkle Twitter died this morning between 11:30 AM and 12 Noon. She was a little over six years old. Her bunny friends Lilac and Harmony stayed with her to the very end.

As I write this they are still holding their funeral for Twinkle.

Many years ago now when one of my bunnies died, which would have been my first bunny death, we did as a person would normally do and wrapped the body of the bunny and took it out to the garage to await burial. At the time I had two live bunnies and they started thumping and would not quit. A friend looked it up on the internet and we found out that a bunny has to be allowed to mourn their dead bunny friend for at least five or six hours or they will thump themselves to death in some cases. Bunnies are hard to bond because mostly they want to kill each other during the process, and they would if you did not supervise the bonding process. But once that bond is made, they are very sad and hurt when their bonded bunny friend dies. I know it sounds morbid to some but if they are not allowed to cuddle their dead bunny friend they will thump until they drive me crazy and hurt themselves. When Kody died last year little Lilac mourned for a couple of months and did not want to re-bond with Twinkle or Harmony. But I finally got all 3 bonded after a couple of months and I am glad that Harmony and Lilac have each other as that will make their mourning go much easier. If that is possible.

Twinkle is the White and Yellow/Red bunny, the little black one is “Little Black Lilac” and the big black bunny is “Harmony with Mittens”. This picture was taken in January 2023.

I feel so sorry for these bunnies, I just checked, and Lilac and Harmony are all cuddled up around Twinkle as part of their mourning process. I hate it every time I see this.
